In 1993, a group of development workers realized-how a viable development organization could be lost due to lack of leadership. There was no shortage of people’s participation, no lack of funding. The organization did not survive only because of weak leadership. At a later stage, as a protest against this situation, out of a spirit of struggle, Cumilla Prashika split off and gave rise to an exceptional organization known as Page Development Center.

An NGO is generally established by pooling financial resources. These resources may come from donations, the founders’ own contributions, or borrowed funds. However, an NGO that is built primarily on talent, dedication, and commitment is far less common.PAGE Development Centre is a truly exceptional organization. What began on a small scale has grown into a wide-ranging organization with an extensive reach and diverse activities.Rather than relying on support from foreign sources, it has grown stronger through its own determination and capabilities. This self-reliance has become one of its defining strengths. Even in difficult times, the organization has continued its journey with resilience, creating social value and empowering countless people to become self-sufficient. The creativity, dedication, and tireless efforts of its staff, together with the unwavering trust of the organized poor communities it serves, have given the organization the strength and confidence to reach where it stands today.

Today, the organization is entering a new phase of growth. It has been recognized by the Microcredit Regulatory Authority (MRA) as a national-level microfinance institution and continues to receive strong support from PKSF, the country’s leading financing and capacity-building organization. Driven by the commitment of more than a thousand employees and the hopes and aspirations of over 170,000 disadvantaged people, the organization is determined to keep moving forward. Despite the challenges posed by COVID-19 and other disasters, it remains steadfast in its mission and is now stepping confidently into a new era of progress.
