In 1993, a group of development workers realized-how a viable development organization could be lost due to lack of leadership. There was no shortage of people’s participation, no lack of funding. The organization did not survive only because of weak leadership. At a later stage, as a protest against this situation, out of a spirit of struggle, Cumilla Prashika split off and gave rise to an exceptional organization known as Page Development Center.

The ideals of Liberation War include that human rights and human dignity of all citizens must be ensured. Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman declared in his 7 March 1971 Speech that “our struggle this time is for freedom; our struggle this time is for independence”. We are now an independent nation. This struggle for freedom of people from hunger and adversities still goes on. We are and will always stand by the side of the underprivileged and backward people, supporting them through both their joys and struggles as a dedicated development worker.
